Recommend me some books related to history of art?
Friday, October 30th, 2009I’m planning to take an art history course this summer so as to obtain a job at an art gallery. (I’m in the public relations biz) I need some basic knowledge before I start my course. What kind of books do you recommend that I read.
I’m crazed over arts, ALL arts, especially contemporary arts- provocative arts (andres serrano’s arts for example)
There a section in ‘Solving Stonehenge’ by Anthony Johnson that explains how some prehistoric artists/craftspeople used geometric motifs 4000 years ago – good read for the really early history of art.
ON Y&R do you think the guy that killed the Art dealer really wanted to kill him?
Friday, October 30th, 2009If he really wanted to kill the guy he could have just shot him from behind was he trying to get Daniel out of a sticky situation remember they both wrestles with the gun then it went off !
The whole scenario doesn’t make much sense to me! Looking at today’s episode, we see a Caucasian hand, in the coffe shop, putting the briefcase, full of money, in the back room. That "COULD" suggest that whoever this is, is trying to do damage to Kevin,Daniel,Jana, and Amber. That "hand" mentioned above still DOES NOT rule out a female! And as far as Adam is concerned, I doubt seriously if he figures in this AT ALL!
I think the masked person may not have ‘really’ intended to kill the dealer, but since the gun was handy, "why not?" If the dealer had ANYTHING to do with it, he really got the raw end of the stick BUT, remember what he said to Daniel as he was dying, "you’re being framed!" So, nothing good could come out of this for Daniel.
What was the movie about the animated actress where everybody thought she was a real person?
Friday, October 30th, 2009I saw this movie a few years ago. There was a computer animation guy who was creating a very realistic actress on his computer. But the guy was dying from cancer, so he gave the computer to a struggling movie producer and asked him to continue the work. The producer did continue it and the computer-generated actress became famous and everybody thought she was a real person. What was the name of the movie and who starred in it?
Simone
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0258153/
The career of a disillusioned producer, who is desperate for a hit, is endangered when his star walks off the film set. Forced to think fast, the producer decides to digitally create an actress "Simone" to sub for the star–the first totally believable synthetic actress. The "actress" becomes an overnight sensation, with a major singing career as well, and everyone thinks she’s a real person. However, as Simone’s fame skyrockets, he cannot bear to admit his fraud to himself or the world. Written by Sujit R. Varma
What streets in NYC have art galleries all next to each other?
Friday, October 30th, 2009is it true 22nd, 23rd and 24th streets cross st. 8th ave have a lot of art galleries ?
Hello!
Yes, there are a good number of art galleries up there in that area.
But an even better place is in SoHo. If you walk south down West Broadway from Houston Street, you will pass many many great and wonderful art galleries. If you go on a weekend, there are also many many artists displaying their art on the street there. It is really really nice. You should check it out.
Make sure you understand that they are on WEST Broadway, not Broadway. They are two totally different streets.
I hope this helps and have fun!
What do girls mean when talking publicly about sex in office?
Friday, October 30th, 2009We are couple of friends 20-30 year old (boys&girls) at office. Sometime when eating lunch together, especially on Fridays, girls start talking about different positions of sex which one of their friends choose when having sex! All the times I become quiet and wait for them to change the topic. What do you think is in their mind?
They just want to brag and make it sound as if they have a very active and adventurous sex life. Just ignore them or say something weird like "I was wondering why someone stole and dumped Voltaire’s body. Maybe I can retrieve it after all these years…."
That will change the subject. Most people just talk rubbish when they are at work, they just like to fit in with people they would probably never see, and probably couldn’t stand deep down. You can always pretned you have to make a call and leave the room. When you come back, and if they ask you, you could just tell that you had a call and change the subject to whatever you want, relating it back to the call. You can say you must use the loo, or you forgot something at the office. If this is too hard, and if they ever ask you, you could just say you go with the flow and that different things work with different guys, so as the guys change, so do your preferences according to what the current guy is good at. That is answering without answering! I feel for you though, I have been in the same situation, but you just have to try the subject if you can. If nothing else works, say something like ‘hey is it true Michael Jackson wore a wig most his life?’
See what works for you. I wish you luck!!
