Why do graffiti artists think I want to see their work?

There are works of art that some people consider are amazing. I don’t particularly want to see someone elses choice of art. Why do grafiti artists think that I would choose to see their art? In my area there are public places designated for artists to practise. They are a complete eyesore in my opinion.
It seems most people think like me. You’re right I don’t understand the THUG mentality. That’s another question.

1) they don’t care
2) THEY THINK THEY’RE MAKING A STATEMENT!
3) they are egocentrics
4) they are criminals defacing public property
5) they don’t care

    I agree, they make the area look like crap and they bring down property value. There should be a law that if they get caught they get their thumb chopped off.

    I live in the heart of seattle. I love seeing the fabulous works of art. (grafffiti) I have some in my room too. I fall for that indie /mainstream crap. But if the art sucks balls , im not to sure i want to see it on the side of my apartment complex either….

    They believe that as an "artist" they have the right to show people their own art and hope not to be persecuted for their choices of expressing themselves. That’s my best guess. =\

    They don’t care if you want to see it, that’s the problem. These criminals haven’ the ambition to become legitimate artists. They are out late at night violating many other laws as well.

    UH…….why don’t you go do some art of your own and make other people look at it? idk ,art work of a smurf pooping, that will make people not want to see it. Make it slimy!! and huge!!! so now you have said their art work is sh!t. LoL Or just spray black over it all and put a big yellow smiley face up.

    I enjoy graffiti on train-cars. Who cares how a train looks? It gives me something to look at while I waste 10 minutes at a railroad crossing. No I don’t want to see it on nice public buildings but if its under a bridge or a standalone wall I think it’s very cool.

    It’s not all bad. Yes, it’s a part of urban culture. Grow up.
