No, no, you are correct. But it might be said that they were contemporaries, they died in the same year, 1918, and Klimt was definately in the art world before him, so in a sense, yes you have a point.

In my humble opinion Schiele was among the masters of the human form in C20. His work is expressive, but intelligent. I think Schiele is outstanding.

Well, thanks for pointing that out if it’s more accurate. 24 hours, 3 days…such a great talent, gone almost overnight along with his wife and unborn child, just when he was right on the verge of attaining the elusive personal fulfilment he’d so deeply craved…whatever the actual time-frame, it was nothing short of a profound tragedy.

lol I guessed right that this comment box would be full of likewise angsty self deprecating yet paradoxically self adoring youngsters. I mean don’t get me wrong, egon was a great artist, but his contribution to the actual progression of art movements and the canon of western art is not that great.
