Dyme-A-Duzin
Dumbfoundead
Prince EA
Ahmir

You’ve waited for the video, and it’s here!
Sorry for the long wait guys. A lot of commotion was happening during the editing of the music video. File errors, computer crashes and re-dos of filming were mostly the problem, but at the end of the day, quittings wasn’t an option to satisfy all of you. Also, the video had to be pushed back for the video of Lil Crazed’s “Say Ah”, which was for a promotion reason.

On another note, Ahmir’s chorus was censored because of label reasons. They had to remove the “sh*t” out of their part in the song. The rest of the song is uncensored though.

All of us are deeply appreciated to have all of you wait for the video and here it is! Sorry for the long wait!

But that was then, and this is now.

ENJOY!

Nick San Pedro was born in Las Vegas, NV on November 15, 1978 to a Cuban-Chinese father, and a Spanish-French mother.

As a young child, San Pedro immersed himself in art, spending most of his time drawing. People quickly grew fond of the young artist’s creations. San Pedro was surrounded by all types of music and live stage shows, being raised in Las Vegas. The artist’s father was friends with Siegfried and Roy, which led to Nick having many opportunities to share his works with them throughout his adolescence. Roy was especially encouraging, and his acknowledgment of San Pedro’s talent was all the artist needed to believe that his artwork was truly magical.

San Pedro’s love for music and performance led to the creation of many works of art that would eventually gain attention from musicians coming to perform in the entertainment capitol of the world.

In 2002, while attending college, San Pedro was commissioned to produce artwork for ‘NBC’s Last Call with Carson Daly’. The following year, The artist was hired to paint eight musicians, including Madonna, for the 45th Annual Grammy Awards Pre-Party.

After debuting his artwork in New York City in the prestigious Rainbow Room, San Pedro went on to share many of his paintings with numerous people in the entertainment industry, including: Christina Aguilera, Nelly Furtado, Tori Amos, Sarah McLachlan, Elton John, Celine Dion, Carole King, Stevie Nicks, Steven Spielberg, Gwen Stefani, Pink, Carey Hart, Siegfried & Roy, Jerry Seinfeld, Ani DiFranco, Ben Folds, The Osbournes, Carson Daly, Ludacris, Kathy Griffin, Carmen Electra and Pamela Anderson.

San Pedro is realizing the impact his work is having on the world around him. The artist continually looks for ways to enlighten peoples lives with his creativity. He is proud to lend his time and work to many non-profit organizations that benefit art programs, children’s charities and AIDS programs.

Nick San Pedro is currently producing oil paintings on canvas and looking forward to sharing his body of work abroad. The artist is truly grateful for every experience he’s had to share his artwork, and for all the people who share this journey with him.

Kaws, Former Graffiti (Tag) Artist

Thursday, October 22nd, 2009

This segment profiles the artist known as KAWS, former Graffiti (tag) artist turned painter and designer of limited edition toys and clothing. This segment also features some cool clips of KAWS’ art, displayed in Pharrell Williams’ Miami Home and Kanye West’s latest album cover and billboard.

You can catch his next exhibition,
“KAWS, The Long Way Home,” February 21,— April 04, 2009 at the Honor Fraser Gallery in LA

or

“I just started simply through graffiti and drawing on my skateboard and painting on walls and getting that small recognition,” said KAWS, known to his family as Brian Donnelly.

KAWS  graduated from the School of Visual Arts in New York with a BFA in illustration in 1996. After graduation, KAWS briefly worked for Disney as a freelance animator painting backgrounds. He also contributed to the animated series 101 Dalmations, Daria and Doug.

He began his career as a graffiti artist growing up in Jersey City, New Jersey.

Later moving to NYC in the 1990s, KAWS started subverting imagery on billboards, bus shelters and phone booth advertisements. These reworked advertisements were at first left alone, lasting for up to several months, but as KAWS’ popularity skyrocketed, the ads became increasingly sought after.

In addition to NY, KAWS has done work in Paris, London, Berlin and Tokyo.

In the late 90s, KAWS began to design and produce limited edition vinyl toys, “an instant hit with the global art toy-collecting community,”especially in Japan, where this genre is well respected and widespread. More toys and later clothing were made for Original Fake, a recent collaborative store with Medicom Toy, in the Aoyama district of Tokyo where an original limited edition product is released each week.

KAWS has also participated in other commercial collaborations with Takahashi for Undercover, snowboard projects with Burton, and sneakers with Nike and Vans.

His most recent collaboration was with Comme des Garçons.

KAWS’ acrylic paintings and sculpture have many repeating images, all meant to be universally understood, surpassing languages and cultures.

One of KAWS’ early series, Package Paintings, was made in 2000. This series, entitled The Kimpsons, subverted the famous American cartoon, The Simpsons. KAWS explains that he “found it weird how infused a cartoon could become in people’s lives; the impact it could have, compared to regular politics.”

In addition, KAWS has reworked other familiar icons such as Mickey Mouse, the Michelin Man and the Smurfs.

Through all of his projects, KAWS has successfully blurred the line between fine art and mass-produced merchandise. He uses his products to allow his imagery to infiltrate a larger audience than that of the fine art world.

The artist is currently an active member in both the commercial and fine art communities.

His work is included in the traveling exhibition “Beautiful Losers,” which started at the Cincinnati Contemporary Art Center and will be traveling through 2009 throughout the US and Europe.
